Chapter 1: The Livestream Warning

I Am the War God: “Hey, streamer on the other side — you’re spreading lies!”
Don’t Underestimate Chubby 555: “Calling 110 right now. The internet needs a serious cleanup.”
Sour Lemon: “Huh? What’s going on? Why the panic?”
I’m the Legend: “Is the streamer roleplaying a prophet now? Gotta admit, this gimmick’s new…”

My name is Lin Xiaoyue. I’m a Taoist priest.
Though I worship the Three Pure Ones, I’d never actually seen ghosts or deities — until one day, I awakened a sequence, granting me a legendary supernatural ability.

Problem is, this ability is… kind of cursed, kind of useless.
It’s called Ghost-Veiled Eyes — though the formal name might as well be “Golden Pupils.”

To make ends meet at my temple, I started a livestream account to take on unusual cases.
That’s when I stumbled upon a stream of three girls broadcasting from a villa. I tapped in out of curiosity.

A blonde girl flashed a smile. “Master Lin, was it? Spooking people like this isn’t cool!”

I Am the War God: “Let me guess — gonna say someone’s cursed and then push some junk products? Scam alert!”

“…”
The chat exploded with insults flying across the screen.

I shrugged and calmly said,
“Just now, weren’t you girls discussing how long you’d stay in that villa?”

“I’m warning you — don’t mess around. Run now while you still can.”

The girl looked stunned. They had just been whispering about that topic moments ago. But how could I have known?

Another girl leaned into frame, smiling. “Maybe this streamer’s just easily spooked!”

“Don’t worry, everyone. Sure, the villa’s in a remote area, but it’s safe.”
“We’ll give everyone a tour soon — make sure to tap that like button!”

Sour Lemon: “Supporting the streamer — that’s one gorgeous mansion…”
Don’t Underestimate Chubby 555: “Run from what? What, ghosts? Really?”
“All superstition. What, haunted houses actually have ghosts? That’s like expecting a wife to pop out of a wife-cake.”
007: “New viewer here. Normally I don’t watch this stuff, but today’s been an eye-opener — like a knife to the butt, haha!”

The livestream was full of laughter and cheer.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time, while I sat there, conflicted.

Should I tell them that this villa had already overlapped with the Gates of the Underworld?
That the yin energy here was several times the norm?
