Chapter 133: The Ghost Amusement Park
Figuring out where a teammate wasn’t located was easy. But pinpointing exactly who was where was complicated. Still, just to be safe, Li Zhi double-checked every possibility before confirming each teammate’s position and giving裴鸿羽 (Pei Hongyu) the answer.
Pei Hongyu walked back to his shooting spot with an expressionless face. “Continue.” His tone was as cold as someone who had spent ten years gutting fish at a supermarket. “I won’t doubt you again.”
It really made him look foolish.
The second round of ring-toss began. This time, Li Zhi aimed for the red doll in the fourth row. You Jingmeng stood beside her, tense with anticipation, barely daring to breathe.
The plastic ring flew through the air and landed perfectly over the doll. You Jingmeng let out a delighted cry: “Got it again!”
A staff member picked up the doll, smashed it with a small hammer, and pulled out a piece of paper. The wall clock began its countdown again. Li Zhi studied the message on the paper in deep thought.
You Jingmeng was stunned.
She knew clues could be complex—but this? What kind of nonsense is this?!
“There are four ghosts—Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding; four colors—red, yellow, white, and blue; and eight numbers from 1–8. Each ghost corresponds to one color and one number. Ghost Yi’s number indicates the location of a teammate? Is this a clue?! It might as well be ancient scripture! Did you really use this to find me earlier?!”
Li Zhi scanned the seven listed conditions:
- There are an odd number of odd numbers.
- Ghost Ding corresponds to white.
- The ghost with number 3 corresponds to red.
- The sum of the numbers of Ghost Jia and Ghost Ding is 11.
- Mixing the colors of Ghost Jia and Ghost Bing creates purple.
- Subtracting the smallest number from the second-largest among the four gives 4.
- The ghost with number 5 corresponds to yellow.
You Jingmeng watched in awe as the boss focused on solving the puzzle. She dared not interrupt, lowering her head seriously to try figuring it out herself.
But before she even understood the question, she heard the boss say to Pei Hongyu nearby: “Teammate is at position 5. Avoid 5 in the fourth row.”
Without turning around, Pei Hongyu raised his gun. Bang! Balloon number 8 burst. Moments later, Han Wenlin emerged from the passage beside the rack, looking relieved yet shaken.
“Continue,” Pei Hongyu said flatly.
You Jingmeng: "..."
What was this? A live IQ competition?
Li Zhi solved the puzzles smoothly after understanding the system’s logic. The only unexpected issue was that during the game, they opened a clue chest and summoned a puppet ghost. Li Zhi had to pause problem-solving and switch to combat mode.
Eventually, she dismantled the puppet ghost. Inside, a small note read: Number 8.
Pei Hongyu worked seamlessly with her. One balloon after another popped. In the end, all eight teammates were rescued. Chi Yi was the last to come out, rushing forward and wrapping Li Zhi in a tight hug: “I knew you could do it!”
Li Zhi smiled and gently patted her head.
For the first time, viewers clearly recognized how intelligent Li Zhi truly was:
【Strong. Unimaginably strong. She finished that numeric puzzle in under a minute.】
【So Li Zhi really is the perfect six-sided warrior!】
【Those stronger than her in combat aren’t as smart. Those smarter than her can’t fight. Wait—I haven’t seen anyone smarter than her yet.】
【Maybe Shu Xinglan could compete with Li Zhi.】
【Shu Xinglan’s stamina is her biggest weakness. If she faced this challenge, she might solve faster, but if a puppet ghost appeared, she’d be done for.】
【Li Zhi is the best!!! Even Pei Hongyu submitted! Do you believe now? Then vote already!】
...
The staff member’s expression darkened like a toy vendor whose goods had been completely taken by players, leaving him with nothing but his underwear. When Li Zhi took the clue box from him, she gave him a sweet smile: “Your rings are actually pretty easy to toss. Great business sense. We’ll definitely come back next time.”
Staff Member: "..."
Powerless rage!!!
With the final clue in hand, the ten players exited through the corridor. Ou Wendong waited outside, pacing anxiously. As soon as he saw them, he rushed forward excitedly: “You’re finally out!”
Left alone outside, he felt like he was the only living person in the entire park, the waiting stretching unbearably long.
Once everyone was out, Li Zhi finally opened the clue box. Since this final ride was single-round, the box contained three cards. The first showed an iron hoop. The second depicted a red robe. The third was a single shoe.
After so many rounds, experienced players had nearly memorized all the ghosts on the Hundred Ghost Wall. Tang Nanshan immediately recognized the clues: “It’s Xu Hao.”
According to legend, Xu Hao was a malevolent spirit that brought misfortune. It wore a red robe, had ox-like nostrils, and only one foot—its other shoe hung at its waist. The iron hoop matched the ox nose, while the red robe and single shoe completed the image.
Thus, all nine ghosts in the amusement park had been identified.
Only one thing remained…
Li Zhi slowly opened the second layer of the clue box.
Previously, all clue boxes had only one compartment. But this final box had a hidden layer. Among the players present, both Li Zhi and Pei Hongyu had completed all nine challenges. Now, the hidden clue had finally appeared.
Although Han Wenlin still believed Li Zhi needed one more round—the carousel—since Pei Hongyu backed her, he didn’t question anything.
Still, everyone was confused: “We’ve already found all nine ghosts. Why is there an extra hidden clue?”
Li Zhi pulled out a black card.
On the black background, red letters formed a sinister smiley face. In childish handwriting, it read: "One of you is a ghost too."
As expected.
Li Zhi exchanged a heavy glance with Pei Hongyu.
Just as they had suspected, this hidden clue from the system merely confirmed the presence of a traitor—it didn’t provide any details about the imposter.
Seeing the hidden clue, the group exploded:
“What does this mean?! There’s a ghost among us?!”
Those quick-witted quickly recalled why Li Zhi had previously asked about everyone’s identities outside the game. Chi Yi looked at her in shock: “Zhizhi, did you know already?!”
Li Zhi nodded. Her calm gaze swept across the group. Every player shivered involuntarily when her eyes passed over them. She spoke evenly: “As you can see, one of the eleven of us is a ghost. It entered the副本 with us right from the beginning.”
Everyone’s faces darkened.
The group naturally split into two factions. One side gathered around Li Zhi and Pei Hongyu—well-known celebrity players. Chi Yi, Chen Tianran, and Tang Nanshan joined them, forming a group of five.
The remaining six newcomers stood frozen, panicked, none daring to approach each other.
Li Zhi gestured to Qi Yongyi: “Xiao Qi, come over.”
Qi Yongyi stepped forward. You Jingmeng and Ou Wendong grew visibly excited, waiting eagerly for their turn. But after calling Qi, Li Zhi didn’t call anyone else. The two grew uneasy.
Ou Wendong pleaded urgently: “Boss! I’m not a ghost! If I were, I wouldn’t have willingly teamed up with you from the start! You’re so smart—if I slipped up, you’d catch me anyway! I swear I’m not!”
You Jingmeng also insisted: “Big Boss Li, I’m not either! I chose to team up with you voluntarily too!”
Meanwhile, Han Wenlin frowned at Li Zhi: “Wen Rui and I can vouch for each other—we’re not ghosts.”
Wen Rui added: “Yes, we can confirm each other’s identity. We even streamed together.”
As they tried stepping forward, Chi Yi quickly stopped them: “Don’t move yet! The clue didn’t say there was only one ghost! What if both of you are? Besides each other, who else can prove your identities?”
Everyone paused, realizing the truth.
The clue only said one of us is a ghost—it never specified how many!
Cheng Jiayue was close to tears: “It’s not me, really not me…” She turned to Chi Yi desperately. “Yi Yi, we filmed together before! Director Gao Liu, Writer Kang Xiaoman… Oh! On the first day of filming, you sprained your back doing stunts and had to take a week off—I remember!”
Chi Yi nodded rapidly: “Yes yes yes, everything she said is true!”
Chen Tianran, who had been quiet since Du Jia’s death, finally spoke up: “These three stayed with me the whole time. Their behavior doesn’t seem ghost-like.”
She turned to You Jingmeng: “But you, Dream… I heard you survived falling from the roller coaster and being invaded by vines in the maze. Surviving twice like that seems suspicious.”
You Jingmeng widened her eyes, furious: “What are you implying?! Just because I’m lucky enough to survive doesn’t make me a ghost! By that logic, what about Ou Wendong? He’s always so lucky—is that normal either?!”
Ou Wendong shouted: “Why are you blaming me?! We’re on the same team!”
You Jingmeng spat: “Like I’d team up with you! What if you are the ghost, and I end up taking the fall for you? No way!”
Ou Wendong fumed: “Fine! I’ll do a belly dance right here to prove myself! Can you do that?!”
You Jingmeng shot back: “Give me makeup tools and I can too!”
Suddenly, red lights flickered across the area.
The eerie glow lit up everyone’s faces. The argument halted mid-sentence.
Li Zhi finally spoke: “Let’s go back and vote for now.” She smiled gently at the opposing group of five. “No need to rush. We still have one full round to identify the ghost.”
On the way back, the mood was heavy and silent.
Li Zhi walked ahead. Chi Yi whispered beside her: “Zhizhi, do you already know who it is?”
There was something subtly threatening in her earlier words.
Li Zhi smirked slightly: “Maybe…”
Chi Yi couldn’t hold back her curiosity: “Who is it?” She bit her lip. “Please don’t let it be Dream. If it is, I’ll be heartbroken.”
Li Zhi mouthed a name.
Chi Yi understood the lips reading—and gasped in shock: “How could it be them?!”
Li Zhi simply smiled, saying nothing more.
They returned to the registration area. The double doors were already open. This was Round Eight. Li Zhi’s group voted for Bear Grandma, the clue found in the maze.
After everyone cast their votes and came out, the red lights dimmed, and the amusement plaza lit up in colorful lights.
The eleven players stood in the center of the square, each with a different expression.
“When Round Nine voting begins,” Li Zhi said with a smile, “the blank area below the Hundred Ghost Wall will likely display the player voting panel. So before the next red lights come on…”
She paused, eyes glinting playfully.
“Let’s play some ghost-hunting games.”
